Weather services

Weather services create everyday weather forecasts, but also special weather forecasts, e.g. for aviation, and are also responsible for warnings of dangers caused by weather phenomena. An internship allows you to look behind the scenes and understand how the well-known weather maps come about. Weather models that form the basis for weather forecasts are also being further developed by weather services. In addition, climate data is increasingly being evaluated, for example in the form of graphics.

Research institutions are institutions where research is usually carried out in specialized areas. Meteorology can be divided into climate- and weather-oriented research, and there are also sub-areas of polar, marine, glacial and environmental research.

Universities

Universities offer an opportunity to get a taste of both the everyday life of students and research. In order to carry out a student internship at the university, it is advisable to contact one of the subject-specific contact persons directly.
